Bilateral cultural relations

With the foundation of the Amani Upper Secondary School in 1924, the corner stone for German Afghan cultural relations was laid. With the exception of a few breaks, these have been intensively cultivated since that time. The 1960s and 1970s in particular were a time of lively cultural and educational exchange.

Two of the most renowned secondary schools in Afghanistan, namely the Amani Upper Secondary School (Secondary School for Boys) and the Aischa-i-Durani School (Secondary School for Girls), are sponsored by Germany. Both schools have been completely restored and provided with modern laboratories.
